Using forum theatre to develop social skills in primary schools, an evidence-based approach to violence reduction.
“On average social skills training programmes have reduced the number of children involved in crime by 32%” so says the Youth Endowment Fund. They go on to say
“Programmes had the largest impact when working with children around the age of 9 to 10.”
This portal therefore provides access to a series of social skills training programmes that are primarily designed to be delivered at Key stage 2.
Welcome to our Primary School Portal
Ariel’s portal provides access to creative, skills development resources designed to support teachers to develop the social & emotional skills, which are shown to protect children from violence and other risks, which they may face.
Our Key Stage 1 & 2 resources are organised by the key skill area that they support, although each programme covers a number of skills areas if you deliver the full half-term programme. You can read more about each programme using the menu above. We recommend delivering the full programmes in order to maximise the impacts, however they are designed to be used flexibly where this isn’t possible.
