On the 1st of July we will be holding a showcase of all the films made in the first year of our Healthy Minds project, supported by the National Lottery. The Healthy minds project allows us to work with young people across Merseyside at risk of, or suffering from Mental Health conditions. We work with the young people for around six weeks to develop creative outputs that explore different areas of mental health, relevant to them. As well as creating their own work the young people explore, risks and triggers for poor mental health, support networks, self-soothing and prevention and where necessary,  an understanding of the term Mental Health itself.

The showcase will be held at and in conjunction with Liverpool University. The event will give the young people we have been working with a chance to get a taste of university life and the options available to them in their own city. The groups involved are from Barnardo’s young carers, MD Productions, Savio Salesian College and Notre Dame Catholic College.  The films explore mental health and technology, the effects of being outdoors on mental health and wellbeing, and the development of the teenage brain and mental and physical health being seen holistically. All the films will be available on our Youtube Channel after the event and links will be below below.
