Grassing or Grooming? In order to extend the reach of our work with schools in North West England we have entered into a new partnership with Edge Hill University (EHU). Based in Lancashire, the university trains teachers who are placed in primary schools across that county.  We are working with Senior Lecturer Dr. Maggie Webster to offer trainee teachers access to 'Grassing or Grooming?'

This online resource gives children the chance to practice skills that they can use to resist grooming by criminal gangs.  After watching a short film children step into the role of the bystander and practice communication skills they can use to intervene if one of their friends is being targeted by a gang.

Dr. Webster said, “Our trainee teachers are responding well to ‘Grassing or Grooming?’ and Ariel Trust are providing teacher training that enables them to tackle challenging issues in an effective way.”

Director of Ariel Trust, Paul Ainsworth said, “This new partnership with EHU provides an opportunity for schools in Lancashire to access educational resources that have been specifically designed to meet the requirements of the Relationship Education curriculum”.
