Ariel is currently developing a new programme, which builds on the current ‘Send me a Selfie’ resource.  This programme takes the narrative of the film to the next stage; imagining Megan has shared an image with Chris and that the Police have become involved.

As part of our development process, we had been working with pupils at St Julie’s Catholic High School.  When it came time to record the voiceover for the new ‘Send Me A Selfie’ film, we were so excited to be able to offer roles to two of the pupils.  Over the ten weeks of our project these two pupils really shone with their acting ability and their attention to detail with characters.  As we developed the script with them, their commitment and generosity when exploring the characters made us sure they would do a wonderful job of voice recording.

On a lovely Thursday afternoon, Molly and Daisy joined us at the Florrie Radio studios to record the voices.  Our recording plans weren’t without some last minute drama, as unfortunately some of our other actors had dropped out the day before.  Luckily, myself and Anita called in some favours from actor friends because as the old saying goes - the show (or in this case the voiceover) must go on.  Our cast assembled, and with the help of Ian from the Florrie we set about recording our script.

Molly and Daisy brought such enthusiasm and care to the voices, really bringing the characters to life.  Voice acting requires different skills to acting on stage, as you are relying only on your ability to convey emotions via speech.  There needs to be a focus on each word, making sure the correct intention is put across.  As well as making sure the lines are said correctly, to help with the animator's job.  It was very impressive to see them use these new skills, and bring their talents as actors to the work.
