Many years ago, as a teacher, I read an excellent book by Hywel Roberts entitled 'Oops, helping children learn accidentally'. That title rings true when working with the Ariel Trust.

We have been having a wonderful time trialling our new programme, 'Telling tales or asking for help?' with Y2 pupils at Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary School.  This is an adaptation of our ‘Grassing or Grooming?’ programme.

We have recently finished our parental engagement programme with two classes at Broadsquare Primary school, both classes culminated in very successful parental engagement workshops! The workshops were successful in terms of the fun and learning had by children, parents and teachers.  One of the most important successes was the fantastic turn out from parents and carers.

Ariel has recently secured funding from both The National Lottery and Paul Hamlyn Foundation.  Alongside other work with the Violence Reduction Partnership this means we are now delivering more face-to-face projects than ever.

A key aim of our current Paul Hamlyn programme, is to demonstrate to schools how our forum theatre approach can be used to actively engage parents in the learning of their children in a way that can improve communication between all three groups; children, parents and schools.

We are now halfway through our Send me a selfie programs at both Our Lady Queen of Peace Primary & Broadsquare Primary, and we are having a fantastic time working with the students and teachers! The children are enjoying the program and developing their skills which is very exciting to see, and we can’t wait to continue to guide them and see their progress.

We have had a great second week of our 12 week ‘Send me a Selfie’ programmes in Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary & Broad Square primary. All classes have completed all of the freeze frame exercises, exploring the characters from our film, and how to show their emotions without speech or movement.

We are pleased to announce that Ariel Trust has completed the first week of workshops delivering the Send Me A Selfie program to both Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Primary and Broad Square Primary school.

Merseyside Police’s Operation Payback uses money that has been seized under the ‘Misuse of Drugs Act’ to support local charities who work in our communities to protect children from crime. Today Op Payback’s Paul Doran presented a cheque to Ariel trust for the work that they have been doing to widen the impact of their 'Grassing or Grooming?' project.
