Newspapers: Use of language

In this exercise the class will look at how the use of language affects how an event is viewed.  They will have the opportunity to listen to a local councillor and journalist talking about the differences in the local and national coverage of the killing of Rhys Jones.  They will then analyse two newspaper articles to see these differences in language.  A final activity will allow them to write their own article using language appropriate to a local news article.
